Charter Haus Yacht Charter Blog |
Its now 2 weeks and counting before the start of this years Alboran race, preparations are busily underway to ensure Seawolf and Bongani are in tip top racing condition. This will be Bongani's first Mediterranean race event, so lets hope her sister ship Seawolf keeps a close eye on her. (mostly from behind) The race will now start at 1pm on the 29th April from Club Candado Malaga, finishing on Friday at Real Club Nautico Motril. We will be sailing from Gibraltar on Tuesday 27th April, returning on May 2nd. Good luck to the 2 teams sailing, Images and videos to be posted.
With Bongani being based down in Cadiz for the year prior to the Rolex Middle Sea Race she is available for RYA courses and cruising - Atlantic Charters was running a course last week and did some seriously exciting cruising - "off the beaten track" - exploring the abandoned village of Sancti Petri 15 miles south of Cadiz.
With Bongani already fully chartered for the Middle ea Race we have another 3 Pronavia 38's with availability aboard, the yachts will all be in Malta so its a fly in Train, Race, Party and out again. it could not be easier.
There will of course be lots of mile building opportunities there and back if you need to build your RYA miles.
There will be 3 almost identical Pronavia 38's racing each other which is going to be a race within a race, please have a chat to Geoff who owns and charters Tangaroa for a seat on the 2010 Middle Sea Race.
They also have space for another exciting race, The Giraglia Cup - St Tropez - San Remo
With all 3 Pronavias in the Med for the year, please look out for some interesting yacht racing venues.
With 2 boats now down south, one based in Gibraltar (Seawolf) and the other in Cadiz (Bongani) it seems like this year is going to a busy year with guests now opting for the option of weekend trips down to sunnier climate's, here is a little taster as to what the marina in Cadiz has to offer - Puerto Sherry, Cadiz.
These 2 options are a great alternative to RYA courses in the solent, we are also offering to split up the course's between the 3 locations (The Solent - Cadiz and Gibraltar) to give you a great variety in conditions
here to a summer of sun on the water
It might be all about the Med this year and specifically the Rolex Middle Sea Race, but amazingly we have started getting enquiries for the Fastnet 2011 Yacht Race.
We have started to plan the Fastnet Campaign, but because its only next year none of the RORC events can be planned for yet as the race dates are currently unknown
It will of course be as per the previous Fastnet Race years with a full programme of qualifiers and training
Campaign Costs

With our Pronavia 38 now down in Cadiz for the season, it was great to see our first RYA Yacht Master pass with flying colours, it was not an easy week due to the weather but a pass is a pass, the weather was bad, but still better doing your RYA courses down in Cadiz and Gibraltar than here in the UK at this time of year.
well Done Geoff
