Round the Island Race 2008
Here we are again enduring another winter with the yachts now out the water getting some TLC and a good scrubbing making sure they are ready for next years corporate yacht charter season. I realized as I opened my subscription to Yachts and Yachting this morning that's next years season is just around the corner when The JPMorgan leaflet fell out advertising the 2008 round the island race.
A few facts listed
1: the largest yacht race of its find in the world.
2: the largest annual participation sporting event in the UK
3: 13000 sailors on the water
4: 55 mile yacht race
5: First skipper home last year was Dame Ellen MacArthur
The race will be held on Saturday 28th of June 2008
