Gibraltar Bay offers protected tidal waters idealy suited to
sail training programmes. Within the bay Algeciras Port, La linea,
Gibraltar harbour and Europa point all provide areas for pilotage,
anchoring, close quarter manoeuvring and race training in virtually
all weather conditions and tidal states.
The cruising/training area within the immediate vicinity is vast
and varied, Africa is only 13 miles away, making ports of Ceuta,
Smir and Tangiers easily accessible in a days sailing mixed in to
this the hazards of shipping, tides and currents encountered within
one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world, the Straits of
Gibraltar offer trainees unprecedented challenges.
Staying in the continent of Europe, Eastwards opens up the
Mediterranean sea and all it has to offer, Sotogrande, Duquesa and
Estapona are all ports within a days sail reach. Out west into the
Atlantic Tarifa, Barbate and Cadiz all offer interesting and varied
pilotage and passage planning challenges.
On Land
Gibraltar is steeped in history and offers a rich cultural
experience for all types of visitor.

Sailing Trips to Africa
Once in Gibraltar its a short sail to
the tip of North Africa, Ceuta is normally your first stop,
followed by a short sail to Marina Smir the following day. Below is
